Finally Done Filming!

Image
Hey again, it's me back at it. My group and I FINALLY finished filming our short film. We only had a little bit left to film after the last time we met but we haven't been able to meet since. I have had to delay our meeting multiple times but I finally was able to meet and so was the rest of my group. My group and I met up at my house like usual to complete the last scenes. All we had to film was the few scenes that took place at my house after he got back from the mall and the hospital scene. The first few scenes were super simple to film. I got to both film and act today as I was in one or two of the scenes. I love the change from filming to acting as it was something different and fun. I changed a few scenes as we filmed them because I felt they were a bit cheesy. I also voted to re-film a few scenes because of the awkward camera angles we had chosen to use. Although, I changed a lot that we had planned to do it still went by pretty quickly. The hospital scene was more diff

No Surprise, Another Delay

Hey, it's me again back at it! Of course, my group and I were not able to meet up to finish our film. We are only one more filming session away from finishing our film. I am so excited to get to edit so I can see this whole film really come together. Sadly, my group and I were too busy to meet up this weekend. My groupmates Jack and Samantha both had work and sports to do so they were too busy to film. I was also too busy all weekend to meet. On Saturday, my family came to town last minute including one of my cousins I had never met before. I had a lot of fun meeting some of my family. We went to lunch and the beach because they are from Colorado so, they don't go to the beach very often. It was a very long day but I had a lot of fun. On Sunday, I had two soccer games scheduled last minute in Miami. Miami is over an hour away from my house so, it took the day to travel there, play both games, and come all the way back. I have been super busy with soccer making it really diffi

Postcard and More Filming!

Hey, it's me again back at it. I have been really working on the postcard as my group and I already have finished making the website. Although we are done with the website, we are still working on the socials. Right now I am working on using a QR code generator to make one to put on our postcard. This QR code is going to link to our Instagram account so people can access our account through the postcard and learn more about our film. I am also creating dates and times for our short film to premiere at the independent movie theater. I decided that our postcard background could be an image of our main actor in a car as that is what our film is all about. I think that by doing this we will better represent our film and draw people into watching it. My group and I have all been extremely busy with school and practice as we are all student-athletes. I have especially been busy because travel soccer just started back up so I am back playing 5-6 days a week. Each time we film we can usu

Filming, Filming and more Filming!

Hey, it’s me again back at it. My group and I have continued to film more this week and we got a lot done. I again had everyone meet up at my house so we could film the scenes taking place there and get them out of the way. Everyone was busy during the day so we had to meet up later at night. I had practice and work during the day so we weren’t able to meet up until it was turning dark out. Because of this, we were not able to film any of the scenes that take place outside as it needs to be light out to film those. Before everyone got to my house I had made sure I made sure I had snacks and drinks to get us through the night of filming. I have been directing and filming for most of this movie but today I finally got to act a little. I am a bit shy in front of the camera but I have gotten used to it from the past films. I have always been one of the main actors in my films so I knew what I was doing and how to act. I do like filming better but acting for a change this film was very fu

Our Film is Coming Along!

Hey, it's me again back at it! My group and I have made some major progress on the filming process. Since I had to cut the last filming day short because I had work I recommended that we meet sometime over the weekend. We finally were able to meet and get some of the scenes filmed. I have already directed and filmed most of the opening scenes for the opening and beginning scenes of the short film. This time I was able to film the grocery store scenes and the following scenes that take place at my house. I had everyone meet at my house before I drove everyone to the Winn Dixie by my house. We only had a few scenes to film in the store so it didn't take too long to get them all filmed. A few people did come up to me to question what my group and I were doing. They were concerned about us filming in their store but soon after I had a conversation with the workers, they gave me permission to continue what we were doing. I tried to film as best as possible and quick as possible so

Filmed The Opening Scene

Hey, it’s me again back at it. Finally, my group and I were able to start filming our short film. Due to our recent delay in filming due to weather we rescheduled filming to today. I had everyone meet at my house at 3:30 with all of the props we would need for the first few scenes. One everyone got to my house I drove everyone to the empty street in my neighborhood where we could film the opening car scene. I was directing and filming this scene as my group mate Jack drove the car. The first scene was slightly difficult to film for me. I had to film a panning shot of the car and it was hard to time my filming with my group mates driving. Instead I suggested we show a wide shot of the car to show he is driving. Then I thought we should have our group mate sitting inside the car with a POV shot of what he’s seeing while driving. This plan was much easier to film and it in the end looked much better. It didn’t take long to film the rest of the first few scenes. This is because most of i

Rainy Day = A No Film Day

Hey it’s me again! It’s probably no surprise that my groups filming was delayed. The horrible weather made it impossible to meet. Today we were supposed to start the filming process but due to the unforeseen weather interruptions we couldn’t meet. My parents along with my other group mates thought it would be unsafe for us to drive in the hurricane type weather to start filming. We were planning on filming the opening scene with takes place in the car so, this was definitely the safe call. I am upset since it was the one day we could all meet and we are all always so busy it’s hard to make time. Luckily we had a backup day planned just in case this happened. My group and I are now planning on filming a few days from now and the weather app looks great. You can never really trust Florida weather though! Even though filming was a bust, my group and I got some stuff done virtually over the phone. I FaceTimed everyone and started to work on the website a little more. I have set up a Insta

We started the filming process!

Hey I’m back! My group and I finally were able to meet up and figure out the roles we will be playing in the short film process. Since this short film will partially take place in a hospital setting, we are going to need to get a lot of props. I was put in charge of finding the hospital like props to heighten the reality of the short film. Luckily, I am very close friends with someone whose dad is an orthopedic surgeon. He said that he would help me get some hospital sheets and a few hospital like props that he finds lying around his office. This will greatly help the setting feel like a real hospital. Other props I am in charge of getting is shopping bags and glasses for the scenes that take place in the middle of the film. I am also the one whose car we are using in the initial car accident scene and whose car we are using to get to all of the other settings. I have already planned a vacant road to film the car accident scene on and made sure to follow every safety pro-caution there
