Filming, Filming and more Filming!

 Hey, it’s me again back at it. My group and I have continued to film more this week and we got a lot done. I again had everyone meet up at my house so we could film the scenes taking place there and get them out of the way. Everyone was busy during the day so we had to meet up later at night. I had practice and work during the day so we weren’t able to meet up until it was turning dark out. Because of this, we were not able to film any of the scenes that take place outside as it needs to be light out to film those. Before everyone got to my house I had made sure I made sure I had snacks and drinks to get us through the night of filming. I have been directing and filming for most of this movie but today I finally got to act a little. I am a bit shy in front of the camera but I have gotten used to it from the past films. I have always been one of the main actors in my films so I knew what I was doing and how to act. I do like filming better but acting for a change this film was very fun. We spent a good while at my house filming before we moved on to make a stop at a store for part of the film. We ended up going to the Galleria Mall to film some of the scenes of our movie. This was actually my original plan although we weren’t sure that the Galleria Mall would allow us to film in their stores. Thankfully, most stores didn’t mind that I was filming despite one of the clothing stores we walked into. Since it was pretty late most of the stores started to close as we tried to go into them. Due to this, we had to cut filming short and we all ended up going back to my house. We did get a good amount of scenes filmed at the mall. I only had planned on going into one or two more stores so we are going to do that next time we meet. I drove all of us back to my house and decided to try and get the website all finished up. We worked for a few hours on the website adding in pictures and linking some of the new social media we made. I created a Twitter while my group mates did YouTube. The Twitter account was kind of difficult to make as I don’t have Twitter so it was a very new platform for me. I still am slowly making progress on the postcard but I am glad we finally got our website all finished up. Anyway, that’s enough for today, peace out!

My product challenged many conventions that are found in Christmas music videos. First , most Christmas music videos use snow or are filmed in a snowy area. As I filmed my video in Florida, there was no snow to incorporate in the video . Instead of snow I went a different route and filmed in front of decorated palm trees and showed my true Floridian Christmas spirit. Another way my product challenged the conventions was most Christmas music videos include back up dancers and all out costumes. My music video was completely the opposite of this as everyone was dressed festive but simpl e . Filmed The Opening Scene

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. Finally, my group and I were able to start filming our short film. Due to our recent delay in filming due to weather we rescheduled filming to today. I had everyone meet at my house at 3:30 with all of the props we would need for the first few scenes. One everyone got to my house I drove everyone to the empty street in my neighborhood where we could film the opening car scene. I was directing and filming this scene as my group mate Jack drove the car. The first scene was slightly difficult to film for me. I had to film a panning shot of the car and it was hard to time my filming with my group mates driving. Instead I suggested we show a wide shot of the car to show he is driving. Then I thought we should have our group mate sitting inside the car with a POV shot of what he’s seeing while driving. This plan was much easier to film and it in the end looked much better. Finally the group got together!

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. My group and I were finally able to meet up and talk out some of the details of our project. The first thing I proposed we talked about was the props situation. I decided that I would buy fake blood and cob webs. I already have fake blood from Halloween at my house so, it was perfect. I also am going to get some old looking sheets to put over places in the setting to make it look a bit more haunted. We officially confirmed that our filming spot would be at my house unless something comes up. My house in under construction so it gives a sort of run down feel. There are also many open lots and construction going on near by. I will have to make sure that there is no debris and we are all safe before we film but I think the spot should be perfect.
