Title Research: Terrifier 2

 Hey there, I used the movie title "Terrifier 2 " as it follow the theme and horror of our movie idea.. When I researched  movie titles I came across the website www.artofthetitle.com, I chose this website in particular as it was easy to use  navigate and find my research. 

 1.     What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?

- In the opening sequence of the movie titled  "Terrifier 2 " it introduces a small skit tho the movie. A clown mopping up the floor, no titles are being represented as yet just footage. 

 2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequences?

  - It is mainly prioritizes the image of clown, which focuses it at different camera angles, what actions his doing, etc.  In the introduction he is mopping the floor and doing a small dance so it emphasizes and zooms in on this character. As well as to represent why he is doing this, as you watch further on you can see that this clown has just killed a man, represented blood and the pale white "death" look in the mans face. This then carries on to the bold red title Terrifier 2. 

      3.   What connotations do these images carry?

   -  The film of the clown and then following on to the dead body portrays the connotations of mystery, scare, tragedy, horror and of course as well as death. It also present that some type of violence and blood is happening through this film. It is meant to intimidate, fear and create gory feeling of death towards its audience. This clown is evil and to be represented this way it brings towards an image of a  young happy girl creating artwork after the titles are introduced, it does this to present its main stakeholders and characters that will be introduced in the film. 

     4.     How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

   -   It establishes the feeling of horror due to the clown and the dead man. We resort now to seeing a clown as evil, he bring death and pain towards characters. We can tell that this movie will be gory as in the title it already presents a dead man with an axe in his head and blood dripping down. It includes the happy dance from the clown, the creepy music only last for around 10 seconds before bringing in somewhat joyful / happy music to showcase and point him as evil and as the monster as well as telling the audience that it is a horror movie. 

     5.     What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

      - Strategies being used to appeal to the audience includes the frightful introduction of the clown, we see that he has taken joy and pride in killing this man. The fact that the dead man showcases the gory side of horror also appeals to the target audience. 

     6.      How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques. 

     -The technology for this title has been used effectively as of course towards the camera angle aimed at  clown and the dead man which uses a range of high and low level angle to showcase dominance / weakness. It provides close up shots to emphasizes the characters as well as transitions from the bottom of the clowns feet to where he is mopping to then showcasing what he has just done, the fact he killed a man. The creepy music leading into the bold red title which is the color associated with blood and violence then leads into the cross cut of sound which changes the mood from fearful and mysterious to somewhat up-beat and joyful music as it presents a little girl which plays on the readers emotions and the fact they know something wrong is going to happen relating it back to the genre of horror.
