Creative Critical Reflection

My product challenges conventions. Many Twizzler commercials use bright colors and upbeat music to keep their audience engaged. Our commercial however, used romantic slow music and dimmer lights. This is completely different from most candy commercials especially Twizzler commercials. The commercial was still happy and showed the product in an entertaining way but we used different things to make it unique which challenged the conventions. This also represents social groups because we all came together because we loved Twizzlers over other candies and it brought up a conversation and good ideas for the commercial.   My product engages with the audience in many ways. First, my commercial resembles the scene of a very common movie making the content familiar to many. The lighting, music and colors also create an intriguing scene leading up to the reveal of the ads purpose. The suspense leading up to showing the Twizzlers draws the audience to keep watching and stay entertained until the

Commercial Time!

I am really happy with how this commercial turned out. I think that there were many challenges that we had to undergo but my group pushed through and got everything in on time. I am very glad I got to be a part of the group I was in because we all helped out and were able to produce a fun commercial. This project has definitely been the best school assignment I have done so far this year and I cant wait for the rest of this classes assignments. Anyways go buy some Twizzlers now and enjoy!

Almost done editing!

We are almost completely done editing! Some final touches need to be added to the commercial to make it prettier and cleaner but the overall film and editing is done. I am sadly not the most tech savvy person so editing was on the harder side for me. I have never been able to figure out all the cool editing features for any videos I made even though I love to be in front of the camera. Luckily some of the members in my group could help me out this time and we all split up the work. We all pitched in a little to help the editing process. My task was to import the Twizzlers logo and slogan into the commercial. I couldn’t decide where I wanted the logo to pop up on the screen when editing. Initially, I wanted the logo to dissolve onto the screen but the idea did not look right with the commercial. I finally decided that I wanted the logo to to pop up on the screen over the final scene with a transparent background so your still able to see the scene behind it. I also inserted a background

Finally Filmed This Thing!

Our group was finally able to get our commercial filmed. After so many days of being busy every member of our group was able to make it at some point and help the filming process. Even though nothing came up with our group members the weather sadly did not hold up in my favor. The initial plan was to meet at the beach but it was quickly changed to my house after the pouring rain. This plan was extremely last minute and I had to rush to make it back to my house in time. I had work right before and I didn’t get off until later then expected so I had to rush home to set up. I decided we were going to use my dock space to film on. So, when I got home I had to clear off the space we were going to be using so we could get the filming done as soon as we could. I chose the dock because we were filming a romantic commercial and the water and lighting was the most romantic feel at my house. I not only gave us a location to film at but I also provided us with some of the props. I supplied us wi

My group has still not yet been able to get together to film our commercial. We all have had a lot come up the past few days forcing us to push back our filming date. First of all, I have been swamped with school, work, and soccer which has been why I have not been able to meet. Now that I am playing both travel and school soccer at the same time I have a lot less time for things. A few others in my group also work and our schedules have been complete opposites making it very hard. As I spend all my free time working it’s hard to find time to do other things. We also had off of school on Wednesday for a holiday. My group was planning to film on this day despite the holiday. However, all of the group members had either work or homework to catch up on. Hurricane Ian was also a slight interruption in our filming process. We had a few days off of school due to the bad weather caused by the storm. Some of us lost power and weren’t allowed outside of our house because of the strong winds.

First Scene:  During this scene we will show the setting and then be filming the waiter laying out a white tablecloth on a table on the beach. This shot will be a wide shot of the set-up and a medium shot of the subject.   Second Scene:  The next scene we wanted to include in this commercial is when another two subjects take a seat at a set table. The location for this scene is on the beach because we wanted to set a romantic ambiance. These people will be wearing fancier type clothing to help enhance the romance. The shot we will be using in this scene is a long shot with a low angle.  Third Scene:  In the third scene the waiter lights a candle on the table. This will be a close-up on the candle being lit on the table.   Fourth Scene: The fourth scene for our commercial is the waiter placing a plate of food down on the table and uncovering a plate of “spaghetti”which is actually just Twizzlers. This angle will be a wide shot at a high angle. Fifth Scene:  The fifth scene in our commer

Props:  The main props for our Twizzlers commercial are foot-long Twizzlers. The other props we will be using are a Table, a white cloth, candles, chairs, flowers, a plate, and Twizzlers peel. Costumes: For the commercial idea our group has, the subjects will all be played by out of the group members. One of our actors will be dressed as a waiter, wearing an all-black outfit. The other two subjects will be dressed in formal attire for a fancy, romantic dinner. This can include a dress for the girl and a nice dress shirt and pants for the man. If we cannot acquire to get our subjects to dress formally, we will adapt to their casual attire for our commercial and continue everything else as planned. Schedule: On 9/27/22: Our group researched similar candy commercials and created our own spin to these ideas. On 9/30/22: Our group decided on roles, props, locations, and a schedule for our commercials, and then we started typing out our ideas for the planning blog. On 10/2/22: Our group br
