Finally Filmed This Thing!

Our group was finally able to get our commercial filmed. After so many days of being busy every member of our group was able to make it at some point and help the filming process. Even though nothing came up with our group members the weather sadly did not hold up in my favor. The initial plan was to meet at the beach but it was quickly changed to my house after the pouring rain. This plan was extremely last minute and I had to rush to make it back to my house in time. I had work right before and I didn’t get off until later then expected so I had to rush home to set up. I decided we were going to use my dock space to film on. So, when I got home I had to clear off the space we were going to be using so we could get the filming done as soon as we could. I chose the dock because we were filming a romantic commercial and the water and lighting was the most romantic feel at my house. I not only gave us a location to film at but I also provided us with some of the props. I supplied us with a table, Twizzlers, glasses, plates, and a pitcher of water. Everyone else also brought things however, since it was at my house I naturally had more supplies. My sister and her friend were supposed to be our actors however they both had band practice they had to go to so I ended up having to become the actor with one of my friends. I was not planning on being the actor but when I heard that my sister couldn’t make it I expected them to choose me to fill in. I am definitely a very social person so being on camera doesn’t usually scare me but, because this commercial was filmed for school I was much more nervous. When I was not acting in the commercial, I was filming some of the scenes. Some of the angles and shots I had to film were kind of hard to get and took a few takes to finally get them right. My choice of the dock although pretty was not the smartest decision I’ve ever made. The bugs were horrible and I got bit by at least 1000 mosquitoes. I went inside to find bug spray but I had none so we had to pause filming a few times to get a break from the bugs. I also realized that our angles and shots that we were filming did not line up with our storyboard. So, we ended up having to reshoot a few scenes a couple of times. We all pitched in with the cleaning up however, it was my house so I had to do a little extra. Once everyone left I had to do all of the dishes and clean up all of the props we left laying around the house. Even with the bugs and all we got the filming portion done and now on to the editing process. Anyways that’s it peace out!
