Finally Done Filming!

 Hey again, it's me back at it. My group and I FINALLY finished filming our short film. We only had a little bit left to film after the last time we met but we haven't been able to meet since. I have had to delay our meeting multiple times but I finally was able to meet and so was the rest of my group. My group and I met up at my house like usual to complete the last scenes. All we had to film was the few scenes that took place at my house after he got back from the mall and the hospital scene. The first few scenes were super simple to film. I got to both film and act today as I was in one or two of the scenes. I love the change from filming to acting as it was something different and fun. I changed a few scenes as we filmed them because I felt they were a bit cheesy. I also voted to re-film a few scenes because of the awkward camera angles we had chosen to use. Although, I changed a lot that we had planned to do it still went by pretty quickly. The hospital scene was more difficult to film. It took over an hour trying to get someplace set up and looking semi-realistic. After a while, I decided my room looked the best for the scene and we filmed in there. We had to change multiple shots to keep it looking real. We couldn't use wide shots or long shots because it showed too much of the room and you could tell it wasn't a hospital. Everyone stayed at my house super late so we could finish the filming for good. Eventually, we finished and it felt so amazing. Now, we have to get on to editing which I am not the best at.  I will miss it since that was my last time filming a film project for AICE media but I had so much doing it. Anyway, that is enough for today, peace out!

Almost done editing!

We are almost completely done editing! Some final touches need to be added to the commercial to make it prettier and cleaner but the overall film and editing is done. I am sadly not the most tech savvy person so editing was on the harder side for me. I have never been able to figure out all the cool editing features for any videos I made even though I love to be in front of the camera. Luckily some of the members in my group could help me out this time and we all split up the work. We all pitched in a little to help the editing process. My task was to import the Twizzlers logo and slogan into the commercial. I couldn’t decide where I wanted the logo to pop up on the screen when editing. Initially, I wanted the logo to dissolve onto the screen but the idea did not look right with the commercial. I finally decided that I wanted the logo to to pop up on the screen over the final scene with a transparent background so your still able to see the scene behind it. I also inserted a background

Dad Reviewed my Blog!

 My dad is a big fan of me taking this AICE media class. He loved my first commercial film so much that he posted on all over social media. He even  sent the film to a producer to try to get it aired on television. I know, he sounds crazy! I thought though, who would be a better person to critique my film than him. So, I played my dad my film and he had a lot of thoughts, both positive and negative. One thing he liked about the film was the intensity. He said that the opening scene would leave some people frightened. Many movies don’t fulfill this aspect of horror movies so it was definitely a high compliment. He also liked that the film followed the horror genre so well. He mentioned that the dark lighting contrast, the setting and acting that we did really helped create a scary tone. He did however also suggest I make some scenes a bit darker because it made scenes feel less scary then they should be.
