Final Task: Get out


We are finally done with the final project. I had an amazing time with my group creating this film. I am so happy we included our new groupmate Olivia and all stepped out of our comfort zone with this project. Filming a horror film was definetly a challange, but it was extremely fun and worth while. I was able to incorparate many new editing skills into my creation. I was also able to try out new technique and shots with the longer time. This project was the highlight of my year and I cant wait to take the class again next year. Anyways, thats enough for today, peace out!

  Hey there, it’s me again. I chose the film Antebellum as it deeply followed the horror genre. I found all research on this film on the website www.watchthetitles.com. Short Film Research: Push to Enter/Drama

  Hello! Continuing my research of short films, I decided to watch the short: Push to Enter by Anthony Nicolau. This short is a mere 11 minutes, but in those 11 minutes the story and emotions portrayed on screen take viewers on a relatable journey. The film is about a delivery man going through the monotony of day to day work and interacting with rude people. He is given an opportunity to better his life when he discovers keys a customer has left in their door, but could he betray his morals? This journey of morality and desperation both the main character and viewer go on display the talents of director and creator Nicolau. With intense shots showing the main character's intrusive thoughts the audience is truly shown rather than told about the internal battles the character is battling. Genre Choice for Film!

Hey there! My group and I all intensely researched multiple genres to decide which would be the best to use. After carful consideration my group narrowed in down to the genres comedy, drama, and thriller. We then finally came to the conclusion that the drama genre would best suit our film idea. The other genres for example comedy would not work as well as drama as it is very hard to connect both intense drama and suspense with laughter and joy. The point in our film is to shock our audience with the plot twist and keep a high emotional intensity. Thriller is in also not the ideal genre as there is not an intent to scare or startle the audience but more to spike emotions. We are also still high-school students with a limited budget and no movie equipment. This makes it very hard to do movies like thriller and keep them looking somewhat realistic.
