Title Research: Websites


  While researching for my task 3 movie sequence, I came across 2 very helpful websites. The first is called Watch the titles and the second one is called Art of the title.


Watch the titles
    The website "watch the titles" is a website that can be used to take a more in-depth look at title sequences and how they are made. This website also writes about the background context of most of the title sequences and explains why or why not the title was good.  Within each example, there's an in-depth background on the certain movie or director. Some examples include interviews, descriptions, broken-down title sequences, etc. Interviews are a helpful source since they are personal and can provide a deeper look at the professional artist's thinking. This can aid in my research for my title sequence by adopting a thought process that I may like and putting my own spin on it. This website has an infinite amount of good examples and emerges as a very good resource for research. Being able to look at a large spectrum of examples is very beneficial. Each example offers a different style of film and production. This can help me zero in on what I would like to do for my task.


Art of the titles
    The website "Art of the titles" is also a tool that aids in title sequence research. This website is very organized and has many tools to help me research for my final task. This website puts certain films into categories, for example, "The top 10 title sequences of 2022" and "Top 5 Michael DeForge" and even has a recommended and classics category. This really helps with my research since I can easily access whatever category I need to. The category "The top 10 title sequences of 2022" is very helpful since I want to be studying recent title sequences for my final task. This is because film has changed a lot over time and I would want to be researching the most recent. This website also includes a list of all the designers and studios. You can click a certain person or studio and the background about them and the films they've designed will show up. This can help me look at different styles from different artists to help me with my final task. Overall, I think this website is very helpful and will help me greatly with my final task.

My product challenged many conventions that are found in Christmas music videos. First , most Christmas music videos use snow or are filmed in a snowy area. As I filmed my video in Florida, there was no snow to incorporate in the video . Instead of snow I went a different route and filmed in front of decorated palm trees and showed my true Floridian Christmas spirit. Another way my product challenged the conventions was most Christmas music videos include back up dancers and all out costumes. Filmed The Opening Scene

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. Finally, my group and I were able to start filming our short film. Due to our recent delay in filming due to weather we rescheduled filming to today. I had everyone meet at my house at 3:30 with all of the props we would need for the first few scenes. One everyone got to my house I drove everyone to the empty street in my neighborhood where we could film the opening car scene. I was directing and filming this scene as my group mate Jack drove the car. The first scene was slightly difficult to film for me. I had to film a panning shot of the car and it was hard to time my filming with my group mates driving. Instead I suggested we show a wide shot of the car to show he is driving. Then I thought we should have our group mate sitting inside the car with a POV shot of what he’s seeing while driving. This plan was much easier to film and it in the end looked much better. Finally the group got together!

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. My group and I were finally able to meet up and talk out some of the details of our project. The first thing I proposed we talked about was the props situation. I decided that I would buy fake blood and cob webs. I already have fake blood from Halloween at my house so, it was perfect. I also am going to get some old looking sheets to put over places in the setting to make it look a bit more haunted. We officially confirmed that our filming spot would be at my house unless something comes up. My house in under construction so it gives a sort of run down feel. There are also many open lots and construction going on near by. I will have to make sure that there is no debris and we are all safe before we film but I think the spot should be perfect. We have not fully decided on a date that we can all meet up. All of us are about to go on break so are schedules are packed. I am either working or out of town the whole break.
