Planning our Movie Opening!

Film Location: For filming we plan on doing it at Lola’s house, similar to our commercial project. Instead of out on the water in her backyard we planned on using some construction going on near by. This way the setting adds darkness and unease based on location alone. Also it differs from previously used locations.

Backup Plan: If it somehow falls through, our backup plan is to use an empty lot. This gives us space and creativity to do a lot of different things and test any ideas we have. It’s also easily accessible and can we found anywhere making it very plausible.

Health and Safety: To keep our group safe we will make sure all safety pro-cautions are taken in any / all filming locations. This means avoiding any possibly dangerous areas that we could get hurt, interacting with strangers since we may be out in public and being aware of our surroundings at all costs. On our way to and from locations we will drive safely, following all traffic laws like wearing a seatbelt and going the speed limit. Any/ All debris caused will be cleaned out of courtesy and caution to us and others as well.

Props: Since our genre is horror, of course we need props to follow suit. Things like fake blood, fake weapons, cobwebs etc. We can use old halloween decorations to add to our setting and make it more scary. Stuff like fake blood can be made with various household items. Overall our props are easily accessible and not to complex yet effectively add to the genre and plot.

Costumes: We chose to keep costumes simple. This way we can focus and put our time into other areas as well as make it realistic. Things like hoodies and sweatpants which keep is realistic and relatable while also adding to the time setting. Since we will be wearing such it gives us that fall/autumn vibe which is when halloween is for extra fun.

Filming Schedule:

March 4 : we plan on meeting to discuss and plan out our ideas. This will hopefully solidify our ideas into a solid plan.

March 11th: We plan to meet to create certain props and as well go out and get what we are missing. Whatever isn’t accomplished we have a week to finish for the next meeting.

March 18th: We will start filming. We don’t plan on finishing but at least getting a start. This way we have room also and aren’t pressed for time.

March 25th: Thus is our planned film day 2. Nothing crazy planned just kind of picking up where we left off as efficiently as possible .

April 1st: Hopefully our last filming day. For a two minute film I believe 3 days is ample time to film.

April 8th: We will start to edit. Starting of course with piecing together our clips. We aim to have a rough edit done.

April 10th: We aim to have our project finished editing so if there’s any complications we have time as well as being able to submit on time without being overwhelmed.
