Finally Back Again!

Hey, it’s me Lola again. I am back here now in A Level Media Studies as a junior more ready than ever. I am so glad I passed AS Level so I have this opportunity to produce more film  (thank you for my grade by the way)!! I had so much fun last year and I am excited to finally put my skills and knowledge from last year to work to create an amazing short film. I want this short film to be my best project by far! I’ve always loved watching movies and I am so happy I get to be the one to make a mini one this time around. I enjoy coming up with my own movie ideas for fun too so, I can’t wait to get this project started. My editing is much better than it has been in the past so I’m confident I am able to create whatever plot look more real. The new effects and transitions I’ve learned how to do will be to use in this project. Anyway, here’s a little to information to remind you a little about who I am in case you forgot! First, I am still an extremely dedicated soccer player. We actually just won the regional championship and came in 3rd place in nationals. Even though it’s going to be tuff balancing school and soccer especially this year, I’m so happy I get to be apart of both. I also still have a job at a taco restaurant as a hostess. At times the job is very stressful but I’m definitely developing good skills and experience. School is also getting very stressful to keep up with lately. Junior year is much harder than I had anticipated. I have already taken an SAT and getting an A in a class is definitely not as easy as it has been in the past. As difficult as it is keeping up with everything I actually do still have fun. I am still lucky enough to be traveling around a lot as well. I got to go to Kansas, South Carolina, Georgia, the Bahamas, and a few other cool stops throughout Florida. I love to travel and I hope to one day be able to travel the world so it was really nice to check some more places off my list. My dream places are still Hawaii and Italy even though those trips might not happen for a long time. Anyways that’s enough about me and my life. Peace Out!

My product challenged many conventions that are found in Christmas music videos. First , most Christmas music videos use snow or are filmed in a snowy area. As I filmed my video in Florida, there was no snow to incorporate in the video . Instead of snow I went a different route and filmed in front of decorated palm trees and showed my true Floridian Christmas spirit. Another way my product challenged the conventions was most Christmas music videos include back up dancers and all out costumes. My music video was completely the opposite of this as everyone was dressed festive but simpl e . Filmed The Opening Scene

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. Finally, my group and I were able to start filming our short film. Due to our recent delay in filming due to weather we rescheduled filming to today. I had everyone meet at my house at 3:30 with all of the props we would need for the first few scenes. One everyone got to my house I drove everyone to the empty street in my neighborhood where we could film the opening car scene. I was directing and filming this scene as my group mate Jack drove the car. The first scene was slightly difficult to film for me. I had to film a panning shot of the car and it was hard to time my filming with my group mates driving. Instead I suggested we show a wide shot of the car to show he is driving. Then I thought we should have our group mate sitting inside the car with a POV shot of what he’s seeing while driving. This plan was much easier to film and it in the end looked much better. Finally the group got together!

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. My group and I were finally able to meet up and talk out some of the details of our project. The first thing I proposed we talked about was the props situation. I decided that I would buy fake blood and cob webs. I already have fake blood from Halloween at my house so, it was perfect. I also am going to get some old looking sheets to put over places in the setting to make it look a bit more haunted. We officially confirmed that our filming spot would be at my house unless something comes up. My house in under construction so it gives a sort of run down feel. There are also many open lots and construction going on near by. I will have to make sure that there is no debris and we are all safe before we film but I think the spot should be perfect. We have not fully decided on a date that we can all meet up. All of us are about to go on break so are schedules are packed. I am either working or out of town the whole break.
