Our Pitch

 Pitch 1: 

A group of teenagers sneak into the abounded house on the block but they get locked is there a way out? Who’s going to make it out alive? 


Pitch 2: 

After the all star athlete Cameron Taylor is set on playing soccer at LSU things change for the worst. Will she be able to play again? 


The reason my group and I thought to choose this pitch is because of the drama that it will cause. This story line is extremely eye catching, easily drawing people to watch and to stay interested. This will also be a good fit for our group as all of our actors are teenagers. The roles are all set to be teenage kids so, our roles in the movie intro will fit perfectly. This pitch idea could be hard to film however, due to the location. We would need to find a good place for us to film that looks as similar as possible to a scary house room.

The reason my group chose this pitch is because we are all athletes that fear this struggle. The plot is very interesting to those in the athletic world and would make a great  story. This pitch idea however, is not as high in drama. This movie may only attract one type of crowd due to the lack of intensity and surprises. It is also a more basic film so it might be hard to film a striking introduction that would draw audience in right away. 

My group and I chose pitch 1 where a group of teenagers sneak into a local abandoned house where they are suddenly locked in and only have one way out. We chose this because of the excitement and drama we can conjure at the beginning of the film and the perfect fit of roles.

My product challenged many conventions that are found in Christmas music videos. First , most Christmas music videos use snow or are filmed in a snowy area. As I filmed my video in Florida, there was no snow to incorporate in the video . Instead of snow I went a different route and filmed in front of decorated palm trees and showed my true Floridian Christmas spirit. Another way my product challenged the conventions was most Christmas music videos include back up dancers and all out costumes. My music video was completely the opposite of this as everyone was dressed festive but simpl e . Filmed The Opening Scene

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. Finally, my group and I were able to start filming our short film. Due to our recent delay in filming due to weather we rescheduled filming to today. I had everyone meet at my house at 3:30 with all of the props we would need for the first few scenes. One everyone got to my house I drove everyone to the empty street in my neighborhood where we could film the opening car scene. I was directing and filming this scene as my group mate Jack drove the car. The first scene was slightly difficult to film for me. I had to film a panning shot of the car and it was hard to time my filming with my group mates driving. Instead I suggested we show a wide shot of the car to show he is driving. Then I thought we should have our group mate sitting inside the car with a POV shot of what he’s seeing while driving. This plan was much easier to film and it in the end looked much better. Finally the group got together!

  Hey, it’s me again back at it. My group and I were finally able to meet up and talk out some of the details of our project. The first thing I proposed we talked about was the props situation. I decided that I would buy fake blood and cob webs. I already have fake blood from Halloween at my house so, it was perfect. I also am going to get some old looking sheets to put over places in the setting to make it look a bit more haunted. We officially confirmed that our filming spot would be at my house unless something comes up. My house in under construction so it gives a sort of run down feel. There are also many open lots and construction going on near by. I will have to make sure that there is no debris and we are all safe before we film but I think the spot should be perfect. We have not fully decided on a date that we can all meet up. All of us are about to go on break so are schedules are packed. I am either working or out of town the whole break.
