Genre Research: Thriller
Another genre I'm researching is thriller. Though similar to horror, thrillers are often meant to invoke a suspense feeling of what’s to come next while horror is more for the scare factor. For thriller, the common camera angels used are high angels. Many are done very slowly to also add to the uneasiness. A Birds eye view is a good movement option for making a character feel powerless and vulnerable which is common in thrillers. Close ups and extreme closeups are best used in showing a characters distress. With this, it sets the audiences moods and builds an effective tension. With costumes and makeup, minimal is always best in helping to keep the scenario real and the characters more relatable. This in turn makes the audience more scared because it’s more real. Low lighting creates a sense a fear and unknowing ness of to what’s come next. Depending on the scene a slow or fast paceed tiring will be used. In thrillers there’s always an intense moment and a calm moment and no in bet...
