Filmed The Best Christmas Music Video Ever!

Hey it’s me again here’s my filming process part 2. After my group and I got everything set and ready to film we started to actually record the video. As we were at my house, I  had to get everyone costumes but no one fit into anything I had. We made a few things work so everyone fit into their character. I was the main actor in the video so I had to be in almost every scene of the video. I felt like acting in this video was much easier than the last project as I was more comfortable in front of the camera. Throughout the recording my group mates and I had to make a lot of directing decisions to make the film better. One decision I made was to incorporate us in the car before the flashback scene. I thought it made the second half of the scenes flow better and look more real time. The group and I wanted to show a snow scene to make the Christmas vibe pop more. However, because us Floridians have no snow we had to improvise. I bought glitter at the store and thought it would look maybe like snow. When we got home I threw it up in front of the camera to see if it would show up and it actually looked pretty. So we all decided to use it in the end scene to add something special to the video. Also a few of our the scenes were filmed in my friends car. I bought lights to wrap around the mirrors to add to the Christmas feel even though they didn’t turn out as planned. It was hard to get everyone to participate in the music video because the guys were on the shy side. When I convinced them to act it was as equally as hard to get everyone to cooperate when filming. We had a lot of bloopers at the end of the project and even though they were funny to watch after, it was very frustrating during filming. The filming took around 3 to 4 hours without the shopping and planning time. I was the actor but I also helped my group mate sarah direct the video. I decided we needed to do test run of each shot before we filmed them so we could get the perfect angle and so we knew how to act. I found this to be very helpful for everyone even thought it made the process a little longer. Some of the angles were also a bit hard to film and we had to prop up the phone and use different tools to get a good shot. Anyways, enough about filming this music video peace out!
